8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2013 Lexus ES 350?
The NHTSA lists 12 recalls affecting the 2013 Lexus ES 350, covering forward collision avoidance, fuel pump and fuel tank, steering, air bag, and ABS components. Specifically, there are three recalls for the Pre‑Collision System (PCS) that may apply the brakes unexpectedly, five recalls related to fuel pump failures that could cause engine stall, one steering tie‑rod lock nut recall, one air bag assembly recall, one fuel tank expansion related recall, and one ABS actuator recall affecting some model years. All recall details are sourced from NHTSA records; Nalley Lexus Smyrna can verify your VIN and explain each bulletin.
How do I check if my 2013 Lexus ES 350 has an open recall?
You can check recalls by VIN on the NHTSA website or bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Smyrna for a free VIN check. Visit NHTSA.gov and enter your VIN for authoritative status, or contact us and we will check for open campaigns and explain required repairs at no charge. If you’d like in-person help, schedule appointment and our service advisors will run the VIN check and confirm remedy availability.
How much does a 2013 Lexus ES 350 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2013 Lexus ES 350 are free of charge to the vehicle owner. Toyota/Lexus will cover parts and labor for NHTSA-identified recall remedies; Nalley Lexus Smyrna performs recall work using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost under the recall program. If you need additional non-recall maintenance, ask about our service specials and financing options—service financing is available to help you get repairs now and pay over time.
Can I get my 2013 Lexus ES 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to guarantee factory recall remedy and OEM parts, and Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a certified Lexus franchise for recall repairs. Independent shops cannot always access manufacturer remedy parts, technical bulletins, or warranty coverage the way a franchise dealer can; using a certified Lexus dealer ensures the repair is performed to factory standard and documented with the manufacturer. To book a factory-authorized recall repair, schedule service at Nalley Lexus Smyrna and our team will handle the rest.
How long does a 2013 Lexus ES 350 recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2013 Lexus ES 350 vary from short inspections to parts replacement and typically take from one hour up to a few hours depending on the campaign and parts availability. Some remedies (for example, fuel pump or PCS component replacement) may require longer shop time; Nalley Lexus Smyrna will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule appointment. If remedy parts are pending from the manufacturer, we will notify you and help arrange a prompt follow-up; ask about loaner vehicles and our comfortable waiting area when you book.
Does an open recall affect my 2013 Lexus ES 350's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect trade-in and resale value because dealers and buyers may require completion of open safety recalls before purchase or registration. Completing recall repairs at Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects resale value and documents that safety issues were remedied using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians—this is often viewed favorably by buyers and appraisal services. To get your vehicle ready for sale, start by visiting our trade-in page at sell-your-car-online.htm and schedule a free VIN recall check and appraisal.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2013 Lexus ES 350 recall?
Some open safety recalls—particularly those affecting brakes, steering, or airbags—can cause inspection issues if they directly impact required safety systems. While state inspection rules vary, addressing recalls promptly at a certified dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna eliminates potential compliance problems and improves safety for you and your passengers. If you are concerned about inspection failure, schedule service and we will inspect open recalls and advise on immediate steps; recall repairs are completed free of charge.
