Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2013 Lexus RX 450h?
The NHTSA records show 2 recalls affecting the air bag system for this model, both involving inflator or sensor issues that can prevent proper deployment. One recall describes an improper weld that can allow gas to escape from the driver’s knee air bag inflator, increasing risk of injury. The second recall involves possible failure of air bag pressure or acceleration sensors that can stop front or side/curtain air bags from deploying. Nalley Lexus Smyrna follows NHTSA guidance and will perform eligible recall repairs free of charge; to book, schedule service online.
How do I check if my 2013 Lexus RX 450h has an open recall?
You can check open recalls immediately by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting our service team directly. Provide your VIN and we will verify any open campaigns using manufacturer databases and NHTSA records at no cost. If you prefer, call Nalley Lexus Smyrna or bring your vehicle to the service drive and our factory-trained technicians will confirm open recalls and next steps. If a recall is open we will perform the repair free under the manufacturer program; click to schedule appointment.
How much does a 2013 Lexus RX 450h recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the owner when covered by the recall. Nalley Lexus Smyrna uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians for recall work, and no labor or parts fees apply for covered campaigns. If additional unrelated repairs are needed, we will provide a written estimate and offer service financing so you can get service now and pay later. Check our current service specials if you need non-recall maintenance while here.
Can I get my 2013 Lexus RX 450h recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts, proper procedures, and coverage under the manufacturer’s campaign. An independent shop may not have access to manufacturer parts, specific service bulletins, or recall repair authorization, which can affect warranty and safety compliance. Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a certified Lexus franchise dealer with factory diagnostic tools and training to perform recall repairs properly and at no cost. To protect safety and resale value, we recommend you schedule service with your local certified Lexus dealer near Smyrna, GA.
How long does a 2013 Lexus RX 450h recall repair take?
Most air bag sensor or inflator inspections and repairs are completed within a few hours to one business day, depending on parts availability. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will provide an estimated turnaround time when you arrive or when you schedule appointment online. If parts are not immediately available we will advise you of the expected timeline and offer loaner vehicle options or shuttle service when possible. Scheduling in advance reduces wait times and helps us get you back on the road quickly; check current service specials for added convenience.
Does an open recall affect my 2013 Lexus RX 450h's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce buyer confidence and may lower trade-in and resale value. Many dealers and private buyers check NHTSA recall status during appraisal, and open recalls can be a negotiating point against the seller. Getting recalls resolved at Nalley Lexus Smyrna documents the repair with OEM parts and preserves vehicle value—start by using our online appraisal at Sell Your Car Online. All recall work at our dealership is completed free of charge and recorded in manufacturer service records to protect resale value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2013 Lexus RX 450h recall?
State inspection rules vary, but safety-related recalls—especially those impacting air bag deployment—can lead to compliance issues and increased liability. Addressing air bag recalls removes safety risks that could affect inspection outcomes and insurance claims in the event of a crash. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will perform the required recall repair at no charge so you meet safety expectations for inspections and insurance purposes.
