Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2014 Lexus GS 350?
The NHTSA shows 11 recalls affecting the 2014 Lexus GS 350, including eight fuel pump-related recalls plus separate brake, steering, and fuel tank entries. Most fuel pump recalls warn that a failed fuel pump can cause engine stall while driving, increasing crash risk; the remedy is replacement of the fuel pump assembly or related parts. The brake recall concerns a brake pedal load sensing switch that may fail and cause unintended braking without brake lights illuminating; dealers replace the brake pedal support assembly free of charge. The steering recall involves VGRS steering ECU programming that can leave the wheel off-center after restart; dealers will update the system free of charge per NHTSA guidance.
How do I check if my 2014 Lexus GS 350 has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Smyrna for a complimentary recall check. To get a dealer check and prompt service, schedule service and we will confirm open recalls using OEM diagnostic tools. We also provide guidance on recall letters and timelines, and we will inform you if parts or interim remedies are in place per NHTSA notices.
How much does a 2014 Lexus GS 350 recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2014 Lexus GS 350 are performed at no cost to the owner under the manufacturer's recall program. Nalley Lexus Smyrna uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians for free recall repairs; if additional non-recall work is needed we will provide an estimate and offer service financing and specials via our service specials.
Can I get my 2014 Lexus GS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to guarantee OEM procedure and parts; we recommend a certified Lexus dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna for safe, warranty-compliant repairs. Independent shops cannot always access factory software updates, proprietary diagnostic procedures, or specific recall parts; our factory-trained staff and Lexus tools ensure the remedy is completed correctly.
How long does a 2014 Lexus GS 350 recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2014 Lexus GS 350 take from 1–4 hours depending on the component and parts availability, though scheduling and parts lead times can extend this window. We encourage you to schedule service for a VIN-specific estimate; interim notices may apply for some fuel-pump related recalls until improved assemblies are available, per NHTSA advisories.
Does an open recall affect my 2014 Lexus GS 350's trade-in or resale value?
Yes—unresolved recalls can lower trade-in and resale value because some buyers and dealers check NHTSA recall status before purchase; resolving recalls protects value and saleability. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will complete recall repairs free of charge and can provide documentation for trade-in or sale; to start that process, visit our trade-in appraisal page.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2014 Lexus GS 350 recall?
An open recall can sometimes affect inspection outcomes if the recall involves safety equipment required by law; it can also be a red flag during DMV or insurance checks. If you are concerned, bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Smyrna for a free VIN recall check and to schedule service; we also offer service financing to help with any non-recall repairs you may need.
