Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2014 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA has issued 14 recalls affecting the 2014 Lexus IS 350, covering air bag inflators (7 recalls), fuel pump issues (5 recalls), and fuel system pulsation dampers (2 recalls). Air bag recalls involve previously replaced or original inflators that may explode and send metal fragments into the cabin; fuel pump recalls report possible pump failure leading to engine stall; fuel system recalls note diaphragms that can harden, crack, and leak fuel. All manufacturer recall repairs are free and must be performed by a certified franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna to ensure OEM parts and correct installation.
How do I check if my 2014 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
You can check your VIN at the NHTSA website or bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will check for open recalls at no charge. Use the NHTSA VIN lookup for an authoritative record, or contact our service team and we will verify recalls and explain any required repairs. If you’d like to have us verify and promptly address any open items, schedule service online and our factory-trained technicians will confirm status on arrival.
How much does a 2014 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2014 Lexus IS 350 are performed at no charge to the owner under the recall program. That means Nalley Lexus Smyrna will complete the necessary replacement or repair using OEM parts and factory procedures at no cost to you. We also offer service financing if you wish to combine recall work with other paid maintenance so you can get recommended service now and pay later; ask our advisors for details.
Can I get my 2014 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs should be performed by a certified franchise dealer to guarantee OEM parts, factory calibration, and a warranty-compliant repair — Nalley Lexus Smyrna is your local certified Lexus dealer for recall work. Independent shops may not have the exact OEM inflators, updated parts, or the factory diagnostic tools required for proper recall repair, and that can impact safety and future warranty coverage. To ensure a correct and covered repair, schedule service with our factory-trained technicians who follow Lexus procedures and use OEM parts.
How long does a 2014 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: air bag inflator or assembly replacements may take a few hours, while fuel pump or fuel pipe replacements typically take a few hours to a day depending on parts availability. Nalley Lexus Smyrna strives for fast turnaround and will contact you with expected timing when you schedule appointment or call our service team. If a remedy requires an improved part that is on backorder, we'll provide interim guidance and notify you as soon as the remedy is available; interim notices for fuel pump issues began in late 2020 per NHTSA guidance.
Does an open recall affect my 2014 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in or resale value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records and expect safety items to be corrected before purchase. Having recall work completed at Nalley Lexus Smyrna preserves value and provides documentation that safety repairs were performed with OEM parts by factory-trained technicians. If you are preparing to trade or sell, visit our trade-in page to get an appraisal after recalls are addressed: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2014 Lexus IS 350 recall?
Some state inspections and insurance underwriting processes consider active safety recalls when evaluating roadworthiness; unresolved recalls can lead to inspection or coverage complications. Because recalls such as fuel leaks (fuel system) or inflator defects (air bag) present safety risks, it’s important to have them addressed immediately at a certified dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna to avoid inspection or insurance issues. If you need service promptly, schedule service — and check our service specials for available offers.
