Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2016 Lexus ES 300h?
The NHTSA has issued 5 recalls affecting the 2016 Lexus ES 300h, covering Forward Collision Avoidance (3 entries), Brake Booster Pump (1), and Engine casting porosity (1). These recalls include a Pre-Collision System (PCS) fault that can apply brakes unexpectedly, a possible brake booster pump failure affecting stability control and brake assist, and engine casting porosity that can cause coolant leaks and overheating. All manufacturer recall repairs are provided free of charge at a franchise dealer; call Nalley Lexus Smyrna or schedule service to confirm your VIN and next steps.
How do I check if my 2016 Lexus ES 300h has an open recall?
Use your VIN at the NHTSA website or bring your VIN to Nalley Lexus Smyrna for a free recall lookup. Visit NHTSA.gov and enter your VIN for official recall status, or contact our service team and we will verify the record at no charge and explain any required corrective action. If a recall is open we will arrange repairs at no cost and help you schedule service at our Smyrna facility; we also offer service financing so you can get service now and pay later.
How much does a 2016 Lexus ES 300h recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2016 Lexus ES 300h are free of charge under the manufacturer’s program. The manufacturer (Toyota/Lexus) covers parts and labor for NHTSA-listed recall campaigns; Nalley Lexus Smyrna will perform the repair with OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost to you. If you need other non‑recall maintenance, ask about our service specials or our service financing options while we complete recall work.
Can I get my 2016 Lexus ES 300h recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and warranty compliance; for free, certified recall repairs you should visit a Lexus franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. Independent shops cannot perform a manufacturer recall repair that is tracked and closed in the OEM system; a franchise dealer documents the repair with the manufacturer and updates NHTSA records. For safety and full compliance we recommend you schedule appointment with Nalley Lexus Smyrna so factory-trained technicians can perform and log the recall repair.
How long does a 2016 Lexus ES 300h recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: most PCS and component replacements can be completed in a few hours, while engine replacement can take longer depending on parts availability. When you arrive at Nalley Lexus Smyrna we will verify your VIN, explain the expected repair time, and provide an estimated turnaround; we strive for fast service and clear communication. To minimize disruption, schedule service in advance and ask about loaner or shuttle options available through our service portal.
Does an open recall affect my 2016 Lexus ES 300h's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce resale and trade-in value because buyers and dealers often verify recall status prior to purchase. Having recall repairs completed and documented at a franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects vehicle value and increases buyer confidence. When you’re ready to sell or trade, visit our sell-your-car-online appraisal page to see how completed recall repairs help preserve value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2016 Lexus ES 300h recall?
An open recall itself is not usually a reason to fail an inspection, but the unsafe condition from a recall (for example, braking or engine issues) could cause a failed safety check. If a recall involves critical systems like brakes or engine cooling, leaving it unaddressed can create a condition that fails inspection and endangers occupants. Protect your safety and inspection eligibility by letting Nalley Lexus Smyrna confirm open recalls and schedule service for free repairs.
