Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2016 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA has issued 14 recalls affecting the 2016 Lexus IS 350, covering the air bag, fuel pump, and fuel system components. These recalls include seven air bag inflator-related actions (risk of inflator rupture sending metal fragments), five fuel pump-related actions (risk of pump failure and engine stall), and two fuel system actions (cracked fuel pulsation dampers that can cause fuel leaks and fire risk). Nalley Lexus Smyrna relies on NHTSA records and Lexus manufacturer notices to verify open recalls and to provide the correct remedy at no cost to owners.
How do I check if my 2016 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will check for open recalls free of charge. To have us check and arrange any needed work, please schedule service online and our service team will confirm recall status, explain required repairs, and arrange a free recall remedy. We also recommend checking official Lexus communications and NHTSA bulletins for recall numbers and interim notices before visiting the dealer.
How much does a 2016 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2016 Lexus IS 350 are performed free of charge under the manufacturer's recall program. At Nalley Lexus Smyrna, factory-trained technicians perform recall repairs using OEM parts at no cost; you may also view current offers and incentives on our service specials page. If you need help with out-of-pocket service unrelated to the recall, ask about our service financing to get repairs now and pay later.
Can I get my 2016 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall remedies must be performed by a certified dealer to ensure OEM parts and correct procedures; the safe, correct option is your local certified Lexus dealer. Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a factory-authorized Lexus franchise with OEM diagnostic tools and factory-trained technicians who will perform recall work and document the repair on your vehicle’s manufacturer record. If you choose an independent shop for non-recall repairs, confirm they cannot perform manufacturer recall repairs that require dealer-supplied parts or calibration—only a franchise dealer can always guarantee the recall remedy and documentation.
How long does a 2016 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Most recall repairs are completed in a single visit and often take between 1–4 hours, though parts availability can extend that time. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule appointment, and we’ll notify you promptly if a part must be ordered or if an interim remedy is in place. To minimize wait time, check for open recalls ahead of your visit and use our online scheduler to reserve a slot; ask about our service financing options if other repairs are needed at the same time.
Does an open recall affect my 2016 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect resale and trade-in value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA and manufacturer records before purchase. Nalley Lexus Smyrna documents completed recall repairs on the manufacturer record and can provide proof of remedy, which protects your vehicle’s market value and makes trade or private sale smoother; for appraisal, visit our trade-in page. Resolving recalls promptly also helps with insurance claims and transfer of ownership, and demonstrates responsible maintenance to prospective buyers.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2016 Lexus IS 350 recall?
Open recalls can sometimes affect safety-related systems that are checked during state inspections, so leaving a recall unresolved may result in inspection failure depending on local rules. Because the recalls for this vehicle involve airbags and fuel system safety, fixing them at Nalley Lexus Smyrna ensures your vehicle meets safety standards and reduces the risk of inspection or insurance complications. Schedule a free recall check and remedy with our team via schedule service; we also post current offers on our service specials page and offer service financing to help with other needed maintenance.
