What the service covers on the 2017 Lexus IS 200tThe oil-change service for the 2017 Lexus IS 200t begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling it with the grade and capacity specified by the manufacturer. A new oil filter is installed to help remove contaminants from the oil as it circulates through the engine. The oil life monitor is reset, and the underhood fluid levels are checked during the visit.
Engine oil gradually loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris, even before it looks dirty. Following the manufacturer's 10,000-mile oil and filter interval helps keep routine maintenance aligned with the published schedule. Signs that an oil change may be due include an oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, dark or low oil on the dipstick, or a ticking or louder engine note at startup. Scheduling service allows the visit to be logged in the vehicle's history.
