What the service covers on the 2017 Lexus IS 350The oil change service for the 2017 Lexus IS 350 begins with draining the used engine oil and refilling it with the grade and capacity specified for the vehicle. A new oil filter is installed to support effective filtration, the oil life monitor is reset, and underhood fluid levels are checked. These steps address more than appearance: engine oil loses its additive package and its ability to carry heat and debris long before it looks dirty. That is why the manufacturer bases maintenance on mileage and time rather than appearance.
Drivers may notice an oil-change reminder light, mileage beyond the last service, oil on the dipstick that looks dark or low, or a ticking or louder engine note at start-up. The 2017 Lexus IS 350 has a manufacturer-published interval of 10,000 miles for engine oil and oil filter replacement. Drivers can schedule service when maintenance is due.
