Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Lexus ES 300h?
The NHTSA has identified five recalls affecting the 2019 Lexus ES 300h: three for the Pre-Collision System (forward collision avoidance), one for the brake booster pump, and one for the 2.5L engine casting porosity. Forward Collision Avoidance recalls (three campaigns) address PCS radar errors that can cause unexpected braking; dealers will replace affected PCS components free of charge under campaigns F1V/F2E. The brake booster pump recall (K2F/KLF) directs inspection and, if needed, replacement of the pump because failure can disable stability control and braking assist. The engine recall (20LA02) addresses porosity in engine castings that can cause coolant leaks, overheating, engine stall, or oil leaks; dealers will inspect and replace engines as necessary. All recalls listed above originate from NHTSA records and are repaired at no cost to owners at authorized dealerships.
How do I check if my 2019 Lexus ES 300h has an open recall?
You can check an open recall using your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will check for you for free. Bring your VIN to our service team or use the manufacturer's lookup; you can also schedule service with Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we'll verify recalls during your visit. We recommend checking before any long trip—our factory-trained technicians will confirm open campaigns and advise on next steps.
How much does a 2019 Lexus ES 300h recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2019 Lexus ES 300h are free of charge to the vehicle owner. Recall repairs are covered by the manufacturer and performed using OEM parts and factory procedures at Nalley Lexus Smyrna, so you pay $0 for covered recall work. If additional non‑recall service is requested, we offer service financing; ask our team about options when you schedule service.
Can I get my 2019 Lexus ES 300h recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure manufacturer parts, software updates, and warranty compliance — we strongly recommend a franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. Independent shops cannot perform manufacturer warranty recall repairs in place of a franchise dealer without OEM authorization; our factory-trained technicians use OEM diagnostic tools to ensure correct repairs. Schedule a no-cost check and repair with our team via schedule service or review available service specials before your visit.
How long does a 2019 Lexus ES 300h recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall: minor component replacements may take a few hours, while engine replacement can require more time — your technician will provide an estimate when you bring the vehicle in. For the PCS and brake booster pump recalls, most visits are completed within a single business day depending on appointment availability; engine block replacements may take longer and require parts ordering. To minimize wait time, schedule appointment online; check our current offers on service specials and ask about loaner or shuttle options when booking.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Lexus ES 300h's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce resale value and complicate trade-in offers because buyers and dealers often check NHTSA recall status before purchase. Having all recalls completed at Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects value and simplifies trade-ins — buyers prefer vehicles with verified, documented recall repairs done by a certified dealer. If you plan to trade, start with a free recall check and appraisal at sell-your-car-online.htm so issues can be cleared before sale.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Lexus ES 300h recall?
Some recalls affect safety systems that may be inspected; while not every state inspection checks for recalls directly, unresolved safety-related recalls can lead to inspection or registration complications. Because the engine porosity recall and brake booster pump recall can directly affect safety and emissions, we recommend addressing open recalls promptly to avoid inspection or insurance issues. Book a free recall check at Nalley Lexus Smyrna or schedule service if you have inspection or registration concerns; we also offer service financing to help with any non‑recall work.
