Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA records show 14 recalls affecting the 2019 Lexus IS 350 across three component groups: Air Bag (7), Fuel Pump (5), and Fuel System (2). These recalls include potentially dangerous air bag inflator defects that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, fuel pump failures that can cause engine stall while driving, and hardened pulsation damper diaphragms that may lead to fuel leaks and an increased fire risk. All recall remedies are performed free of charge by the manufacturer at a certified dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna.
How do I check if my 2019 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle's recall status by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting Nalley Lexus Smyrna — we will check your VIN for free. Visit NHTSA.gov and enter your VIN to view official open recalls, or call Lexus customer service as listed in the recall notices; you can also schedule service with us and we will confirm the recall status during a complimentary inspection. Our service team uses OEM diagnostic tools and manufacturer databases to verify recall eligibility and next steps for repairs.
How much does a 2019 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner. All corrective actions listed by the NHTSA for the 2019 Lexus IS 350—such as replacing air bag inflators, fuel pump assemblies, or fuel delivery pipes—are covered by the manufacturer and performed at no cost at an authorized Lexus dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. If additional non-recall maintenance is recommended, we offer transparent estimates, service financing, and available service specials to help.
Can I get my 2019 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and manufacturer-approved procedures are used; the safe and correct remedy is at a certified franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. Dealers have factory-trained technicians, OEM parts, access to official service bulletins, and the warranty/recall systems required to document and complete the repair properly. If you prefer a dealer visit, schedule appointment online—recall repairs are free and we also offer service financing if you need additional paid work.
How long does a 2019 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall but most component replacements (air bag inflator, fuel pump, or fuel delivery pipe) are typically completed within a few hours to a day. Some recalls require parts availability; if a part is not immediately available, interim notices may be issued by the manufacturer and you will be scheduled as soon as the remedy arrives. To minimize downtime, schedule service with Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will provide an expected turnaround when you check in; ask about our service loaner options and available service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce resale and trade-in value because buyers and dealers often verify recall status before purchase. Having recall repairs completed and documented at a franchised dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects vehicle value and buyer confidence; we can provide repair receipts and update manufacturer records upon completion. If you are preparing to sell or trade, get your recalls resolved first and consider a quick appraisal at our trade-in page: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Lexus IS 350 recall?
Open recalls are safety-related and may affect the outcome of certain inspections or insurance assessments in some states, so it's best to resolve them promptly. While inspection rules vary by state, addressing recalls ensures safety compliance and can prevent inspection issues or complications with insurance claims. Nalley Lexus Smyrna can check recalls for free and schedule service to complete the manufacturer remedy quickly; we also offer service financing options to help manage any additional repairs.
