Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2021 Lexus ES 300h?
The NHTSA has recorded five recalls affecting the 2021 Lexus ES 300h: three for Forward Collision Avoidance, one for the brake booster pump, and one for the engine casting. The Forward Collision Avoidance recalls relate to the Pre-Collision System (PCS) unexpectedly activating and applying brakes when radar mistakenly detects roadway steel joints or plates, increasing crash risk. The brake booster pump recall involves possible pump failure that can deactivate Vehicle Stability Control or reduce braking assist; this increases crash risk and is covered by the manufacturer. The engine recall addresses porosity in 2.5L engine castings that may allow coolant leaks leading to overheating, stalls, or possible engine damage and fire risk.
How do I check if my 2021 Lexus ES 300h has an open recall?
You can check open recalls by entering your VIN on NHTSA.gov or by contacting Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will verify your vehicle at no charge. Bring your VIN to our service team or call our service center; we use OEM diagnostic tools and manufacturer databases to confirm open campaigns. If you prefer, schedule service and we will perform a free recall check during your visit.
How much does a 2021 Lexus ES 300h recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner when performed by an authorized Lexus dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. We use genuine OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall repairs, and there are no labor or parts fees for covered campaigns. Can I get my 2021 Lexus ES 300h recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts, manufacturer procedures, and free warranty coverage—visit your local certified Lexus dealer for recall work. Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a factory-authorized dealer with Lexus-trained technicians, OEM diagnostic tools, and direct manufacturer support to ensure recalls are resolved correctly and documented. If you need to schedule service we’ll confirm the recall and perform repairs at no cost; ask about current service specials.
How long does a 2021 Lexus ES 300h recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall: many recall fixes are completed within a few hours, but engine replacement can take longer depending on parts availability. When you schedule appointment at Nalley Lexus Smyrna we will provide an estimated turnaround time based on the specific recall campaign and parts lead times. We prioritize safety repairs and offer express bays when possible; check for any applicable service specials to make your visit convenient.
Does an open recall affect my 2021 Lexus ES 300h's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect trade-in value and buyer confidence because many dealers and private buyers check NHTSA records before purchase. Having recalls completed at Nalley Lexus Smyrna preserves resale value, documents manufacturer repairs with OEM parts, and can improve appraisal outcomes—visit our trade-in / appraisal page for details. Resolving recalls is free and protects safety, resale value, and potential insurance and inspection outcomes.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2021 Lexus ES 300h recall?
While recall status alone does not always cause inspection failure, unresolved safety recalls that affect emissions or critical safety systems could lead to inspection or registration complications in some states. Nalley Lexus Smyrna recommends resolving safety-related recalls promptly to avoid possible inspection, insurance, or registration issues in Georgia or neighboring jurisdictions. If you need assistance, schedule service and we will check your vehicle for open recalls and complete any required repairs at no cost.
