8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2021 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA records show 14 recalls affecting the 2021 Lexus IS 350, covering air bag inflators, fuel pump assemblies, and fuel system pulsation dampers. Specifically, there are seven air bag-related recalls that address inflator risks and potential inflator ruptures; five recalls related to fuel pump failures that can cause engine stall; and two recalls for fuel system pulsation dampers that may leak fuel. These items are safety-critical and are being handled through manufacturer recall remedies; Nalley Lexus Smyrna can confirm your vehicle’s recall status.
How do I check if my 2021 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
You can check recalls by VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to our service department and we will check for free. Call Nalley Lexus Smyrna or visit our service portal; we will verify NHTSA records and notify you of any open recalls and available remedies. If a recall is open, we will schedule the repair at no cost—use our schedule service link to book an appointment.
How much does a 2021 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner. The NHTSA and Lexus reimburse or provide parts and labor for recall repairs; Nalley Lexus Smyrna performs recalls using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost to you. If you need other unrelated services, ask about our service financing and current service specials.
Can I get my 2021 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed under the manufacturer program and the safest option is a certified franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. Certified dealers have factory diagnostic tools, OEM parts, and direct access to Lexus technical service bulletins required for proper recall remedies—this is especially important for air bag inflator and fuel system work. For speed and warranty compliance, schedule with Nalley Lexus Smyrna using our schedule service page; ask about service financing if needed.
How long does a 2021 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall type; most plug-and-play replacements like fuel pump or air bag inflator swaps typically take a few hours to a day. If parts are on backorder we will provide interim updates; Nalley Lexus Smyrna prioritizes recall work to minimize disruption and can provide estimated turnaround when you schedule appointment. We also post temporary offers and timing on our service specials page where applicable.
Does an open recall affect my 2021 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce buyer confidence and may lower trade-in or resale offers. Dealers and private buyers often check NHTSA records; getting recalls repaired at Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects resale value and documents that manufacturer remedies were completed using OEM parts. When you’re ready to sell or trade, visit our trade-in page and we’ll verify recall completion as part of the appraisal process.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2021 Lexus IS 350 recall?
Open recalls are primarily safety issues; while they don’t always automatically cause an inspection failure, some states and inspection programs can flag safety-related unresolved recalls. Because recalls like fuel leaks or air bag inflator risks can affect roadworthiness, we recommend prompt repair to avoid inspection complications and insurance issues. Schedule a free recall check at Nalley Lexus Smyrna via our schedule service link—service financing is available if you need additional maintenance.
