Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA has issued 14 recalls affecting the 2022 Lexus IS 350 covering air bag inflators, fuel pump assemblies, and fuel system components. Primary components listed by the NHTSA include the air bag inflator (risk of inflator rupture), fuel pump (possible stall risk if pump fails), and fuel delivery components (possible fuel leaks). Nalley Lexus Smyrna recommends owners confirm open recalls and bring vehicles to a factory-certified dealer for free repairs.
How do I check if my 2022 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
You can check recalls by entering your VIN on NHTSA.gov or by calling Lexus customer service; Nalley Lexus Smyrna can also check your VIN for open recalls at no charge. Bring your VIN to our service center or use our service portal at service portal and our technicians will verify NHTSA records and manufacturer bulletins. If an open recall is found we will perform the remedy free of charge and can help you schedule service.
How much does a 2022 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Recall repairs are performed at no cost to the owner when the issue is confirmed by the manufacturer and NHTSA—there is no charge for parts or labor for covered recalls. Nalley Lexus Smyrna uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall remedies, and we also offer service financing if you need other non-covered work done at the same time. Check our current service specials for additional maintenance offers when you visit for recall work.
Can I get my 2022 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and covered warranty remedy—your local certified Lexus dealer is the correct choice for free recall service. Independent shops cannot provide the manufacturer’s free repair under recall programs; Nalley Lexus Smyrna’s franchise status ensures the repair is logged with the manufacturer and NHTSA. To protect safety, warranty, and resale, contact Nalley Lexus Smyrna to schedule appointment for recall repair.
How long does a 2022 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the listed issues (air bag inflator, fuel pump, fuel delivery pipe) take between 1–4 hours, but times vary by the specific remedy and parts availability. If a replacement part is delayed, Nalley Lexus Smyrna will provide an interim notice and schedule the repair as soon as the OEM component arrives to minimize disruption. You can schedule service online and our team will provide an estimated turnaround time when the recall is confirmed.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
Yes—an unresolved recall can negatively impact resale and trade-in value because buyers and dealers check NHTSA records and may require completion of recall work before completing a sale. Having recalls addressed at Nalley Lexus Smyrna with documented OEM repairs protects vehicle value and provides buyers with confidence that factory recall work was completed by certified technicians. To protect value, consider getting recalls fixed before listing or trading; you can start a valuation at our trade-in page after recall work is completed.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Lexus IS 350 recall?
While inspections vary by state, some safety-related open recalls—like defective air bag inflators or fuel leaks—can cause a vehicle to fail inspection or affect insurance eligibility in certain jurisdictions. Addressing recall repairs at Nalley Lexus Smyrna ensures compliance with safety standards and reduces the risk of inspection failure or insurance complications. If you need help, schedule service and ask about our service financing options to complete necessary repairs now and pay later.
