Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Lexus LS 500?
The NHTSA has issued 12 recalls affecting the 2022 Lexus LS 500 covering tires, fuel pumps, brake booster pumps, and the fuel tank. Specifically the recalls include one tire recall for run-flat sidewall reinforcement cracking, eight recalls related to fuel pump failures that can cause engine stall, two brake booster pump recalls that can disable stability control and reduce braking assist, and one fuel-tank related recall tied to the fuel-pump issue. These summaries are based on NHTSA records; for dealer guidance and to verify your vehicle VIN, contact Nalley Lexus Smyrna or use the NHTSA VIN lookup.
How do I check if my 2022 Lexus LS 500 has an open recall?
Enter your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will check for free. You can also call Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987 for manufacturer notices and then schedule service with us if a recall applies. We recommend checking immediately if you own a 2022 Lexus LS 500 because some recalls (fuel pump, brake booster pump, tire) affect vehicle handling and can increase crash risk.
How much does a 2022 Lexus LS 500 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. Toyota/Lexus-authorized dealers, including Nalley Lexus Smyrna, complete all NHTSA-listed recall remedies at no cost using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians. If you see offers for paid repairs from independent shops, be cautious — recall work should be performed by a certified franchise dealer to ensure correct parts, warranty compliance, and proper documentation.
Can I get my 2022 Lexus LS 500 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to guarantee OEM parts and proper manufacturer documentation; Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a certified Lexus franchise that performs free recall repairs. Independent shops may not have the required OEM parts, factory diagnostic tools, or access to manufacturer remedy parts, which can affect safety, warranty and resale documentation. To protect safety and value, contact Nalley Lexus Smyrna to schedule appointment or review current service specials that may support related maintenance.
How long does a 2022 Lexus LS 500 recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall and parts availability, but many recall repairs take one to a few hours once parts are in stock. For example, tire replacement or inspection is typically short, while fuel pump assembly replacement can take longer depending on parts and labor; Nalley Lexus Smyrna will provide a time estimate when you schedule service. Our service advisors can often prioritize safety recalls and offer loaner or shuttle options; check current offers on our service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Lexus LS 500's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce trade-in offers and deter private buyers because many dealers and buyers check NHTSA recall status before purchase. Resolving recalls at an authorized dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects vehicle value and provides documentation for buyers and appraisers; use our trade appraisal page to get an updated value after repairs at sell-your-car-online.htm. Taking care of recall repairs promptly also helps maintain warranty coverage and prevents safety issues that could affect insurance claims.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Lexus LS 500 recall?
Some recalls affect emissions or safety equipment and could lead to inspection failure depending on state rules and the recall component (e.g., brake assist, stability control, fuel system). The NHTSA documents for the 2022 Lexus LS 500 show recalls for components that influence vehicle stability and engine operation; to avoid inspection issues, resolve recalls at Nalley Lexus Smyrna before inspection. We offer service financing to help you get required maintenance now and pay later if additional repairs are needed beyond the free recall remedy.
