2022 Lexus RX 350L Air Filter in Smyrna, GA

The 2022 Lexus RX 350L engine air filter sits inside a rectangular air box in the engine bay, typically on the driver side, ahead of the intake tube.

Pop the hood and look for a clipped or screwed plastic housing feeding the 3.5‑liter V6 intake. The cabin air filter is separate and usually positioned behind the glove box. If clips are tight or access is limited, our Smyrna team can help and also inspect the intake ducting and MAF sensor seating. You can schedule service online.

The engine air filter cleans intake air for the 3.5L V6 combustion, while the cabin air filter cleans air entering the HVAC for passengers.

On the 2022 Lexus RX 350L, the engine filter protects performance and fuel economy by blocking dust before it reaches the throttle body and MAF sensor. The cabin filter targets pollen, dust, and debris that affect interior air quality and HVAC efficiency. Nalley Lexus Smyrna services both filters with OEM-spec parts and proper installation checks.

• OEM-spec media helps maintain Lexus-designed airflow

Common signs include reduced power, lower fuel economy, and a rough idle for the engine filter; weak airflow and musty odors for the cabin filter.

In a 2022 Lexus RX 350L, restricted engine intake can dull throttle response from the 290‑hp V6 and nudge MPG downward. A dirty cabin filter can make the blower seem weak or introduce odors after parking under trees or during Atlanta pollen season. If you notice these symptoms in Smyrna or surrounding areas, book a quick inspection.

• Engine: sluggish acceleration, decreased MPG, uneven idle
• Cabin: reduced vent airflow, haze on windshield, odors

The 2022 Lexus RX 350L uses two filters: an engine air filter that protects the 3.5L V6 (290 hp, 263 lb-ft) intake path and a cabin air filter that supports HVAC airflow for all three rows. Lexus specifies OEM-grade filtration media designed to balance particle capture with the required intake volume. While replacement intervals depend on driving conditions and the owners manual schedule, heavy pollen and dust can accelerate loading and justify earlier inspections to maintain performance and comfort.

During service, technicians verify air box seals, intake duct integrity, and proper filter orientation to prevent unmetered air or bypass. Cabin media is aligned with airflow arrows to ensure even distribution through the evaporator core.
