Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2023 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA has issued 14 recalls affecting the 2023 Lexus IS 350: 7 for air bag inflators, 5 for fuel pump issues, and 2 for fuel delivery components. Air bag recalls primarily address potentially rupturing inflators that can send sharp metal fragments into the cabin; consequence: serious injury or death. Fuel pump recalls address pumps that can fail and cause the engine to stall while driving, increasing crash risk; dealers will replace affected pumps free of charge. Fuel system recalls (pulsation dampers) relate to diaphragms that can crack over time and leak fuel, increasing fire risk; dealers replace the fuel delivery pipe with an improved part free of charge. All recall details are sourced from NHTSA records; Nalley Lexus Smyrna can confirm applicability to your VIN and perform repairs free of charge.
How do I check if my 2023 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Smyrna and we will check for free. You can also call Lexus customer service (1-800-255-3987) or Toyota customer service (numbers listed in NHTSA notices) for recall specifics tied to your VIN. To get a dealer-verified result and next steps, schedule service with our certified technicians who will confirm any open recalls and advise remedies. We recommend checking immediately if you drive the vehicle regularly — air bag and fuel-related recalls carry real safety risks.
How much does a 2023 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Recall repairs are free of charge when performed under the manufacturer's recall program. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will complete recall repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost to you; we also honor any applicable owner notifications from Lexus/Toyota. If you need help financing non-recall maintenance, we offer service financing and pre-approval options; schedule service with us to discuss options. Check our service specials for other maintenance savings while your vehicle is in for recall work.
Can I get my 2023 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and documented factory procedures; the dealer is the safe, recommended choice. Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a certified Lexus franchise dealer with factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostic tools required for proper recall remediation. Independent shops cannot always obtain manufacturer-supplied recall parts or update manufacturer records; use a dealer to protect warranty, resale value, and safety documentation. To book dealer recall repair, schedule appointment online — we will verify your VIN and complete the remedy at no cost.
How long does a 2023 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall type but most air bag or fuel system recall fixes can be completed in a few hours to one day; fuel pump replacements sometimes require a short parts wait. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will give an estimated turnaround when you schedule service, and we’ll notify you if parts are delayed. We prioritize safety repairs and offer loaner vehicles or shuttle options where available to minimize disruption to your day. Check current offers and timing on our service specials page before your visit for potential additional savings.
Does an open recall affect my 2023 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
Unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in offers and deter private buyers because recalls are flagged during title checks and vehicle inspections. Having recall repairs completed and documented at Nalley Lexus Smyrna protects resale value and ensures clear transfer of ownership with manufacturer records updated. We recommend resolving open recalls before selling or trading; use our online trade-in tool to get an appraisal after repairs. Timely recall repairs also demonstrate responsible ownership to buyers and can prevent post-sale liabilities.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2023 Lexus IS 350 recall?
While inspection rules vary, serious safety recalls (air bag or fuel leaks) can lead to failed inspections or require repair before re-registration in some states. Nalley Lexus Smyrna can verify if an open recall impacts your inspection status and perform the required repairs free of charge to help you pass state checks. If you are heading to an inspection, schedule service and we will prioritize any recall-related safety items that could affect compliance. We also offer guidance on documentation and can provide proof of completed recall work for inspection or registration purposes.
