Is the oil filter replaced every time a 2023 Lexus NX 350 has its oil changed? The oil filter should be replaced with the oil service so the 2023 Lexus NX 350 receives fresh filtration.
The filter holds debris collected from the engine oil and can load over time. Once loaded, its bypass valve allows oil to circulate unfiltered rather than stopping oil flow. The exact service timing should follow the manufacturer's schedule and the vehicle's service history.
- Fresh filter matched to the engine
- New sealing washer where applicable
- Leak check after the engine runs
What is included in an oil filter replacement on a 2023 Lexus NX 350?An oil filter replacement includes a filter matched to the 2023 Lexus NX 350 engine, a sealing component where used, and a post-service leak check.
The service covers the filter matched to the engine's specification. It also includes a new drain plug gasket or washer where the engine uses one. After the engine is run, the technician checks the filter seal for leaks.
- Engine-matched oil filter
- Drain plug gasket or washer where applicable
- Inspection for leaks at the filter seal
What happens if the oil filter on a 2023 Lexus NX 350 is not replaced? If the oil filter on a 2023 Lexus NX 350 is not replaced, it can load with debris and allow unfiltered oil to circulate through the engine.
The bypass valve keeps oil moving when the filter becomes restricted, so the engine may continue receiving oil while losing filtration. An oil-pressure warning, unusual engine noise, or oil that darkens quickly after a change warrants inspection.
- Debris remains trapped in an aging filter
- The bypass valve may open
- Oil can circulate without filtration
Does a 2023 Lexus NX 350 need a specific oil filter?Yes, the filter must be matched to the 2023 Lexus NX 350's 2.4-liter inline-four engine.
Filters are not interchangeable across all engines because their fit and operating requirements can differ. Nalley Lexus Smyrna matches the filter to the engine actually fitted to the vehicle without relying on a universal selection. The service also includes the applicable sealing component and a leak check.
- 2.4-liter displacement
- Inline-four cylinder layout
- Filter selected for this engine
Can the oil be changed on a 2023 Lexus NX 350 without changing the filter? The oil can be changed without replacing the filter, but the filter should be renewed with the oil service.
The existing filter may already contain debris from the oil it has held. Carrying it into another oil change can leave the engine dependent on a loaded filter, whose bypass valve may allow unfiltered oil to circulate. The manufacturer's schedule, an inspection, and the vehicle's service history help determine the broader maintenance plan.
- Filter retains oil-borne debris
- Loaded filters can trigger bypass operation
- Replacement restores fresh filtration
