Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2025 Lexus IS 300?
The NHTSA records show 28 related recalls affecting air bag, fuel pump, and fuel system components that can affect the 2025 Lexus IS 300. The primary issues include air bag inflator defects that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, fuel pump failures that can cause engine stall, and fuel system pulsation-damper cracks that can lead to fuel leaks. All recall defects and remedies are documented by the NHTSA; Nalley Lexus Smyrna can verify your VIN and explain which specific recalls apply to your vehicle.
How do I check if my 2025 Lexus IS 300 has an open recall?
You can check open recalls by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting Nalley Lexus Smyrna; we will also check for you at no charge. Bring your VIN or contact us and we will look up NHTSA records and manufacturer bulletins to confirm any open campaigns for your vehicle. If you prefer, schedule service and our factory-trained technicians will verify recalls, advise on next steps, and perform any required work free of charge.
How much does a 2025 Lexus IS 300 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the vehicle owner and are performed using OEM parts at a certified dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. If a recall repair requires replacement parts or assemblies, Lexus covers the cost; Nalley Lexus Smyrna manages the warranty claim and performs the repair at no cost to you. We also offer service financing if you need other non-recall repairs at the same time, and you can view current service specials for eligible maintenance.
Can I get my 2025 Lexus IS 300 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized manufacturer dealer to ensure OEM parts and updated safety procedures are used; therefore you should use a certified Lexus dealer. Independent shops cannot always access manufacturer replacement parts or the required repair procedures and software updates that Lennexus-certified technicians use. Nalley Lexus Smyrna has factory-trained technicians, OEM diagnostic tools, and direct access to Lexus parts, ensuring recall repairs are performed correctly and documented with the manufacturer.
How long does a 2025 Lexus IS 300 recall repair take?
Typical recall repairs range from under an hour to a few hours depending on the component; some parts-replacement campaigns may require a short wait for parts availability. For example, replacing a fuel pump or air bag inflator assembly usually takes a few hours, while simpler inspections can be completed quickly during a single appointment. To minimize wait time, schedule service in advance; Nalley Lexus Smyrna will advise expected turnaround and offer loaner or shuttle options when available.
Does an open recall affect my 2025 Lexus IS 300's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively impact trade-in offers and private resale because many buyers and dealerships check NHTSA and manufacturer records before purchase. Resolving recalls at a certified dealer protects resale value, maintains a complete service history, and removes safety liabilities for prospective buyers. If you plan to sell or trade your vehicle, visit our trade-in page to get an appraisal after recall repairs: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2025 Lexus IS 300 recall?
Some states and inspection stations may flag unresolved safety recalls during inspections; while the recall itself is not always a direct cause for failure, safety-related defects can lead to failed inspections. Addressing recalls promptly prevents inspection issues and protects you from potential safety and insurance complications related to unresolved recall items. Contact Nalley Lexus Smyrna to check recalls before inspection and schedule appointment—recall repairs are free and documented for inspection records.
