Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2026 Lexus NX?
The NHTSA record shows six related recall actions that affect certain Lexus NX and related model years; these relate to fuel pump, air bag sensors, and an ABS actuator issue in earlier NX model years. Specifically, the recalls include three fuel pump-related campaigns, two air bag sensor campaigns, and one ABS/Brake actuator campaign; each is documented through NHTSA communications and manufacturer recall notices. Although the 2026 Lexus NX Base is a current model, owners should verify VIN-specific status because some campaigns apply to earlier model years and variants; Nalley Lexus Smyrna can confirm your VIN and advise on eligibility.
How do I check if my 2026 Lexus NX has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle's recall status by entering its VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting our service team at Nalley Lexus Smyrna for a free VIN check. We will run your VIN against the NHTSA database and Lexus technical bulletins at no charge and explain any open items, required repairs, and expected timelines. To bring your vehicle in once you know the status, please schedule service online or call our Smyrna service center; we also list current service specials that can help with unrelated maintenance.
How much does a 2026 Lexus NX recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are free of charge to the owner when performed at a certified franchise dealer like Nalley Lexus Smyrna. The corrective actions described by the manufacturer—for example replacing a fuel pump assembly, replacing air bag sensors, or inspecting and replacing an ABS actuator—are completed at no cost under the recall program. If you require additional non-recall maintenance, ask about our service financing and available service specials to manage cost and convenience.
Can I get my 2026 Lexus NX recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure the remedy follows the manufacturer's procedure and uses OEM parts; Nalley Lexus Smyrna is a certified Lexus franchise for recall repairs. Because recalls often require specific OEM components, software updates, or manufacturer confirmations, a factory-trained technician at a franchise dealer is the safest choice. We recommend scheduling a free VIN check and repair at Nalley Lexus Smyrna; you can schedule service online and ask about service financing if needed.
How long does a 2026 Lexus NX recall repair take?
Most manufacturer recall repairs are completed within a few hours to one business day, but exact times vary by component and parts availability. For example, fuel pump assembly replacements and sensor swaps typically require several hours; Nalley Lexus Smyrna will give you an estimated turnaround when you schedule service. If parts are not immediately available, we will notify you and work to expedite the remedy; meanwhile ask about courtesy transportation or rental options and view our current service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2026 Lexus NX's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect resale and trade-in value because many buyers and dealers verify NHTSA records before purchase. Resolving recalls with documented dealer service—performed by Nalley Lexus Smyrna using OEM parts—removes that barrier and protects vehicle value; you can start a trade valuation at our sell your car page. If you plan to sell or trade, get recalls remedied promptly to avoid reduced offers or sale delays; our dealership will provide proof of completed recall service for your records.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2026 Lexus NX recall?
Open safety recalls can affect inspection and registration in some states if they relate to systems checked during inspection; address safety-related recalls promptly. The NHTSA lists safety consequences—such as engine stall from a failing fuel pump or air bag non-deployment—so state inspectors or insurers may flag unresolved items. Nalley Lexus Smyrna will handle recall repairs free of charge and provide documentation so you can meet inspection and insurance requirements; schedule service today. Nalley Lexus Smyrna is your local certified Lexus dealer serving Smyrna, GA, and surrounding communities including Marietta, Atlanta, Vinings, and Sandy Springs. We offer factory-trained technicians, OEM parts, and free recall repairs.

Defect

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2015 Lexus NX200t vehicles manufactured December 18, 2014, to February 2, 2015. These vehicles are equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TRAC), and Vehicle Stability Control System (VSC) which are controlled by an ABS actuator. A component inside the actuator may have been damaged during its assembly and may cause the actuator to not function properly.

Consequence

Under some driving conditions, when the ABS is activated, the malfunctioning ABS actuator could cause a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ABS actuator, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on July 21, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
